Never give another player your login credentials or one-time codes. Use official links, verify unusual requests and keep sensitive reports in private support channels.
Your account is not part of a server verification trade
A player, moderator or supposed support agent should not need your Microsoft password, recovery codes, session cookies or authentication codes. A message offering a free rank, cosmetic or account upgrade does not make those requests safe.
Check the full destination before signing in through a link. If a request feels unusual, leave that conversation and open the community’s official website or support route yourself. A familiar avatar, username or copied server logo is not proof of identity. For younger players, a trusted adult should help review account privacy and multiplayer settings.
Treat downloads and QR codes as links
A “required client,” resource pack, screenshot viewer or performance tool can send you outside the game. Confirm whether the server actually requires it and obtain it from the source named in official instructions. Do not run a file simply because somebody says it will fix a problem quickly.
QR codes can also open websites or initiate login flows. Do not scan or approve an unfamiliar login request to claim an in-game reward. If you have already shared credentials, use the account provider’s official recovery and security tools promptly rather than paying someone who promises to recover the account for you.
Slow down before a trade
If the other person pressures you to hurry, pause. Being able to explain what each side is giving is more valuable than being first to accept. If a trade looks wrong, cancel and ask privately before transferring anything.
- Read the final item, quantity and currency amounts—not just the chat promise.
- Use the server’s approved trade system when one is available.
- Check whether a changed offer resets confirmation, and review the final state again.
- Know the community’s rules about real-money trades, loans and item recovery.
- Do not assume staff will reimburse a deal just because screenshots exist.
